No Gym, No Problem | #cRaessyFit #RoadToDarna2019

Heya! It's been a while since I wrote. I have been crazy busy with work all I wanted to do was watch Netflix as soon as I get home. Also the reason why I stopped going to the gym. I realized that being mentally exhausted is the most tiring type of exhaustion. At work I've been delegated more tasks so I almost always drain my brain. Since then, my gym visits became so scarce that I decided to cancel my membership.

Of course doing so put back all the weight I lost since 2017 as I don't get to workout as often anymore. It's just last April I decided to dedicate time to get back in shape by jogging around the village as well as exploring new workouts I can do at home (separate post on this as I try to get back to vlogging as well).

Somehow I miss the gym. I miss the people -- the coaches and gymmates -- whom I get to consider as friends, no.. make that: family already. They served as my social circle since 2017 when I became more frequent working out. I miss the chikas, not that I don't get a lot of them still, but the everyday banters I used to have with the gym fam. We're from different professions, different backgrounds but we all find comfort in the gym, more specifically the dance studio. Oh, how I miss dancing! I miss taking my fave spot in front, following every step of our instructors. I miss the group classes too. I miss how it harnesses my competitive spirit but at the same time my ability (I'd like to believe) to motivate and lead. I miss the free boxing sessions and shirts I get as prize whenever the coach picks me to be the "challenge winner" everytime I do well in class.

I still get offers to go back to the gym but it really is a challenge for me right now to balance my time as well as finances. Adulting is such a struggle! So what I plan to do is be consistent in my home workouts for the meantime and get some more workout equipment so I get to mix up my routine (I get bored fast and easy) every once in a while.

Really, the saying is true,
If there's a will, there's a way.
Quitting gym shouldn't be an excuse on why I get fat. Besides, exercise is just 20% of the whole equation. The remaining 80% boils down to diet. So for those of you struggling to be (or get back) in shape, it's really all in the mind. You have to will yourself to be disciplined both in breaking a sweat and watching what you eat.

Let's do this together! (Stay tuned for my upcoming vlogs as I try to get back in shape and hopefully inspire you. Now if I can start filming and editing...)

It's hard to start -- it always is -- but we have to start somewhere. No gym, no problem. You can always workout at home! So just a few tips. There are various apps you can download like 7M Women and Female Fitness - Women Workout. You can also watch blogilates videos on YouTube (she's my fave!). And if you can, start intermittent fasting. I do the 16-8 interval wherein I fast for 16 hours and have an 8-hour eating period. You can look it up to see what works for you. Again, fitness is 20% exercise, 80% diet. Have a healthy balance of both. We can do this!

Hope this helps.

❤️,
Raessy
