Here's a song I wrote for my grandfather who passed away a couple of weeks ago. He was a great artist -- he composed the official hymn of Maragondon, Cavite which is sung in school and government offices. He loved being the maestro of several marching bands for that was his "home" and his love for music was so enormous he liked to share his knowledge to other people, as it is a way for them not to be in vices.
Started writing the words for this music when I found out he was in comatose in the ICU, and that his life support would have to be removed as per his last will. The music was from unfinishedsongs in YouTube, a channel that provides music for free use.
LYRICS
I WISH
I wish the stars come out tonight
I wish I see a falling meteorite
I wish tomorrow the sun shines bright
But for now as I sleep, hug me tight.
When the morning comes and you're not here
I must be brave enough to wipe these tears
How do I even say goodbye
When the last thing you want is see me cry?
I wish I can stop the time
I wish our moments do not pass us by
And as I'm making all these words rhyme
All I really want is not to say goodbye.
When the morning comes and you're not here
I must be brave enough to wipe these tears
How do I even say goodbye
When the last thing you want is see me cry?
Two of my cousins also made their respective songs for him. Your music lives on here, 'Tay. Continue sharing your music up there! We love you so much. Thank you for everything.
